Viewing SAN-controllers in Solaris.

You can view the HBAs from a system perspective in different ways.

(Attention!)
The HBAs are managed exclusively via the global zones.

1.) Veritas via vxdmpadm
bash-3.00# vxdmpadm listctlr all
CTLR-NAME ENCLR-TYPE STATE ENCLR-NAME
=====================================================
c2 EMC ENABLED 1257
c4 EMC ENABLED 1257
c18 EMC ENABLED 1257
c10 EMC ENABLED 1257
c14 EMC ENABLED 1257
c16 EMC ENABLED 1257
c8 EMC ENABLED 1257
c12 EMC ENABLED 1257
c16 EMC ENABLED 1143
c2 EMC ENABLED 1143
c4 EMC ENABLED 1143
c8 EMC ENABLED 1143
c12 EMC ENABLED 1143
c14 EMC ENABLED 1143
c18 EMC ENABLED 1143
c10 EMC ENABLED 1143
c0 Disk ENABLED disk
c20 Disk ENABLED disk
c1 Disk ENABLED disk
bash-3.00#

This example shows all controllers, even the SCSI-controllers for the local LUNs. The HBAs are seen twice, because they’re listed per enclosure (= EMC DMX Box).

2.) Solaris 10 via cfgadm
bash-3.00# cfgadm -l -o show_FCP_dev |grep ‘fc-fabric’
c2 fc-fabric connected configured unknown
c4 fc-fabric connected configured unknown
c8 fc-fabric connected configured unknown
c10 fc-fabric connected configured unknown
c12 fc-fabric connected configured unknown
c14 fc-fabric connected configured unknown
c16 fc-fabric connected configured unknown
c18 fc-fabric connected configured unknown
bash-3.00#
