iPad pre-orders sold out, worldwide.

Much to the surprise of no one who actually follows Apple and their product launches, the initial batch of the new iPad have sold out worldwide.

Shipping times started slipping as soon as Thursday of last week, just a few hours after the iPad was announced by Apple’s CEO Tim Cook.

I placed my order on the 8th in the morning because there’s was no way to order it from the german online store on the 7th in the evening, and have just received an email by Apple that notifies me that my iPad, 16GB WiFi white, will be at my doorstep on…April, the 3rd.

Holy cow. I wonder how many iPad’s Apple produced for the initial run? I’m guessing it’s no less than for iPad 2 last year. I’m anxiously awaiting all the “failure”, “small update”, and “Apple is DOOMED” articles.
