I usually don’t get into that stuff, but this is a significant development, much like when the EU opened an antitrust-investigation against Samsung in January.
Both companies have repeatedly tried to use FRAND-patents to extort Apple, Microsoft and others.
It’s worth mentioning that EU law supercedes (read: overrules) local EU country law, which, in Germany, has been abused by Motorola and Samsung.
This is a potential deal-breaker for Google, as it wants to aquire Motorola primarily for it’s patents. If Motorola loses this, those 12,5 billion USD will seem mighty expensive for Google and it’s shareholders.
