The smartphone is the DSLR…really?

I’m sorry, but that’s just crazy talk.

Smartphones are nice, and have (well, some at least) really nice picture taking capabilities, and yes, they’re replacing conventional point-and-shoot cameras more and more, but to suggest that a smartphone can replace or is a DSLR is just bogus.

DSLR’s serve very different purposes. They are for the prosumer, and the pro who wants to shoot really nice pictures. Pictures that are exceptional. Smartphones are for snapshots, nothing more, nothing less.

It will be at least five more years before a smartphone camera can compete with low-end DSLR’s of today. That’s basic physics.

Stay with the smartphone wars, Brian. Seriously. You don’t know Jack about DSLR’s.
