Apple Q1FY13 results.

Apple on Tuesday reported a quarterly profit of $9.5 billion on revenue of $43.6 billion for its fiscal second quarter. In the year-ago quarter, Apple posted revenue of $39.2 billion and profit of $11.6 billion.

According to Apple, it sold 37.4 million iPhones in the quarter, compared to 35.1 million in the year-ago quarter. Apple also sold 19.5 million iPads during the quarter, compared to 11.8 million in the year-ago quarter. The company sold just under 4 million Macs, compared to 4 million in the year-ago quarter.

“Our teams are hard at work on some amazing new hardware, software and services, and we are very excited about the products in our pipeline,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Facebook Home.

It looks nicely designed, but I don’t get it.

Well, actually I do, but I’d never use it.

See, it’s ok when Apple integrates Facebook in iOS, because that way I know it’s only certain stuff that Facebook can grab about me, but why on earth would I let Facebook take over my entire phone?

They’ve been caught multiple times with their greedy hands in peoples data. I don’t trust them, because it’s free – which always means I’m the product, and not the customer.

Happy 3rd birthday iPad.

Has it really only been three years? Wow…

Anyhow, three years ago Steve Jobs introduced us all to the post-PC world, and while we’re not there all the way, we’re well on our way.

As of October 2012 Apple alone has sold over 100 million iPads. I’m guessing it’s actually around 145 million by now.

Remember how lots of people laughed at the name, and the concept? Nobody’s laughing anymore, are they?

Happy 3rd, iPad. I wonder how you’ll look, and what you’ll be able to do in three years…
